Ramzan Bazars provide relief to the masses:Ahmad Ali Olakh

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Malik Ahmed Ali has said that 334 Sastey Ramazan Bazaars throughout the province have provided relief to the masses and on agriculture fair prices shops, from 1st Ramazan to 23rd Ramazan, 646.055 ton grain pulse, 620.448 ton gram flour, 1616.517 ton potato, 1486.552 ton onion, 189.850 ton lady finger, 177.431 ton bitter gourd, 195.218 ton round gourd, 179.544 thousand dozen bananas, 285.134 ton dates and 337.094 ton rice have been sold. There are various items available in Sastey Ramazan Bazaars in abundant quantity including Meat, cold drinks, atta and sugar.

Malik Ahmed Ali informed that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, members national and provincial assemblies are visiting Sastey Ramazan Bazaars on regular basis for ensuring provision of necessary items on fixed prices. A cell has been set up in provincial metropolis for monitoring of Sastey Ramazan Bazaars. He said that no mismanagement or inefficiency has been witnessed in Sastey Ramazan Bazaars and abundant items are available at fair price shops of agriculture.

The Provincial Minister said that daily use items are being provided on cheap rates than the market to the people by the Agriculture Department and Market Committees. He said that the illegal profiteering of the middle man has been controlled by setting up fair price shops which helped in stoppage of price-hike. He said that the officers of agriculture department are inspecting regularly the quality and quantity of the items being provided at fair price shops.
