Rescue 1122 to remain on high alert

Lahore: The Director General Punjab Emergency Service Dr. Rizwan Naseer directed all DEO’s to ensure appropriate cover for Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) in a recently held meeting.

In this regard, the Service has already devised a comprehensive contingency strategy to provide efficient pre-hospital emergency medical cover to the processions participants and has established Rescue Posts at Imambargahs and Majalis in spite of the fact that Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 already running with limited number of Emergency Ambulances, is providing emergency coverage to the citizens and has successfully rescued over 1.46 million emergency victims while maintaining its average response time of 7 minutes and uniform standards in all Districts of Punjab.

The Director General, PES said that no compromise shall be acceptable on delivery of the Service & further directed all Emergency Officers to remain on high alert to ensure coordinated response in case of any untoward incident

Furthermore, the DEO’s were directed also to hold preparedness meetings and provide detailed briefing to all field staff regarding the contingency plan. In this regard, Rescue Mobile Posts & Teams comprising of Emergency Medical, Fire & DERT Rescuers shall be deputed at different sensitive locations and all emergency ambulances, fire & rescue vehicles with emergency kits shall be available at Rescue Post in order to provide immediate pre-hospital emergency management at Imambargahs, Majalis & processions. Moreover, the Service has made necessary arrangements to cover the route for any untoward incident.

In order to ensure effective monitoring on Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA), the Provincial Monitoring Cell established at Headquarters Lahore is holding video conference with all districts on daily basis, is functional round the clock and remotely monitoring control rooms through IP based cameras.
