Commissioner Lahore Division, Jawad Rafique Malik today visited various spots from Bhatti Chowk to Karbala Gamey Shah in view of the procession to be taken out in connection with the Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (Karam Allah Wajho).
During his visit he inspected search lights installed on the route of the procession, patch work, CCTV cameras and the pavement. The Commissioner directed the Solid Waste Management Company officers to immediately remove the mud present in front of the main gate of Karbala Gamey Shah and make better cleanliness arrangements. Meanwhile, he also directed the LESCO officials to shift the power transformer installed in front of the Central Model High School to some other places.
On this occasion, the Commissioner told the organizers of the procession that effective security arrangements had been made whereas all arrangements regarding the route clearance, video recording and scavenging were complete. He directed MD WASA to ensure that WASA staff might remain present till the end of the procession. He said that he had come to the venue in person to review all those arrangements so that there might not be any missing regarding the arrangements. He assured that the government was desirous to provide better facilities to the participants of the procession so that they might perform their religious obligations in a better way.
The Commissioner during the course of inspection, was accompanied by MD WASA, officers of LESCO, Sui Gas, Solid Waste Management Company, Additional Director Security Col. (Retd.) Younas Bharola.
