Pakistan to encourage Dutch investment in energy sector:PM Raja Pervaiz

Islamabad:Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday said Pakistan and the Netherlands enjoy friendly and cooperative relations and the democratic government in Pakistan is committed to working closely with the Netherlands to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation.

The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Netherlands, Mrs. Fauzia M. Sana, who called on him here at the Prime Minister House.He said that Pakistan and the Netherlands have now institutionalized bilateral interaction, adding, Netherlands is Pakistan’s 13th largest trading partner in the world and 6th in the European Union.

The Prime Minister directed the Ambassador-designate to convince the Dutch businessmen to undertake joint ventures in the areas of alternative energy resources and agriculture including in the dairy and floriculture sectors.He said that Pakistan offers an attractive and friendly investment environment for foreign investors. He asked the Ambassador to encourage leading Dutch multinationals like Shell, Phillips, Unilever etc. to expand their operations in Pakistan.
