Food Department completes the pre-flood SOPs

Lahore:Food Department has completed the pre-flood SOPs and arrangements have been made to cope with any emergent situation.Wheat storage centers have been shifted from the flood-hit areas to safer and better places. In order to protect the wheat storage, granaries have been raised more than two feet so that the rainy water could not damage them.

The food department spokesman disclosed that Food Department has purchased 900 polythene caps and world food programme has provided 500 caps while Food Department has already 1500 caps with it. He informed that these polythene caps have been especially designed for granaries and due to it the wheat could be protected from seasonal affects for a long time.
