14 new Vocational Training Institutes to be set up in the province

Lahore:Provincial Zakat Council has granted approval to the proposal of the Punjab Vocational Training Council to set up 14 new Vocational Training Institutes in the province. The classes in these new vocational institutions would commence from July 10, during the current month.

This decision was made in 140th meeting of Provincial Zakat Council, held under the chairmanship of Provincial Secretary Zakat and Ushr, Capt (R) Jehanzeb Khan. The meeting was also attended by Members Provincial Assembly, Sakina Shaheen Khan, Tayyaba Zameer, Administrator Zakat Muhammad Yousaf Butt, Deputy Administrators Zakat Field Rana Muhammad Sajjad Babar, Hafiz Fazal Raheem Ashrafi, Hafiz Zubair Ahmed Zaheer, Maulana Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Kh. Abdul Qayyum, besides representatives of Finance, Local Government and Social Welfare Departments. It was decided in the meeting to set up two Vocational Training Institutes at Hafizabad, 4 at Faisalabad, 2 at Chakwal and one each at Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Jehlum and Sialkot, in which free-of-cost vocational training would be provided to the zakat deserving persons of the area. The Provincial Zakat Council also approved an amount of 23 lakh, 49 thousand and 489 rupees as educational stipend to be distributed among 489 under training students, enrolled in 17 educational institutions of Lahore, Khanewal, Toba Tek Singh and Rahim Yar Khan. Other important matters also came under discussion during the meeting, while approval was also granted to the decisions made in the 139th meeting of Provincial Zakat Council.
