Policy for Ramzan evolved:Zulifqar Khosa

Lahore:Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that Punjab government has evolved a strategy for the supply of cheaper and quality edible items to the people in Ramazan and Model Bazaars through price control mechanism.

He was presiding over a meeting at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mansha Ullah Butt, Members Provincial Assembly, Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretaries of Industries, Labour, Agriculture, Food, Local Government, Finance and Law departments as well as other officers were present on the occasion. The meeting was informed that Punjab government intends to give subsidy on Atta, sugar, ghee, gram pulse and other items in Ramazan bazaars and a summery has been sent to the Chief Minister for approval. It was further informed that a vigilant eye would be kept on hoarders and profiteers during the month of Ramazan and strict action would be taken against the persons involved in hoarding and profiteering. Secretary Food informed that sufficient stocks of sugar, Atta and pulses are available for the month of Ramazan.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa informed that monitoring committees have been constituted under the supervision of Members Provincial Assembly and the Ministers at district level for the monitoring of Ramazan bazaars at local level and police force would perform its duty regarding security. The meeting was informed that number of Madni Dastarkhawans has increased due to increasing trend of philanthropists during Ramazan which will be run in a better manner as compared to the last year.
