We cannot train drunken master,Turkish Trainers say sorry to IGP

SP Waqas Hassan

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Haji Habib-ur-Rehman has recommended strict disciplinary action against a SP who was found involved in immoral activities during a training course in Turkey.
The Services and General Administration Department has been asked to send ‘the report’ to the federal government, so that the aforesaid police officer could be punished.
According to sources, the IGP constituted a high-level inquiry committee comprising two officers of additional-IG rank to probe the allegations against the officer. The police chief ordered the inquiry after the Turkish police commander contacted him and informed that Waqas Hassan, an officer of Police Service of Pakistan, frequently remained under the influence of liquor.
Sources revealed that the Turkish police chief also complained to the IGP that Hassan was non-serious in training and his attitude with the trainers was rude.
The Turkish police chief also suggested to the IGP to call back the officer who gave a bad name not only to his department but also the country otherwise they would be compelled to send him back. SP Waqas Hassan is currently posted in the Sheikhupura district.
