Islamabad:Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and Senior Federal Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is involved in arson and loot instead of extending cooperation to resolve the energy crisis and getting our workers houses attacked and public and private properties damaged by organizing processions through his assembly members.
Ch Parvez Elahi said this while talking to media people at his residence here today after Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf’s meeting with Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Shujat Hussain, MNAs and other leaders.
He said that we have stressed upon Prime Minister Raja Parvez Musharraf that he should first resolve the energy crisis and he has assured that for reducing immediately electricity load shedding formula of Ch Shujat Hussain would also be given due consideration for its implementation.
Continuing, Ch Parvez Elahi said that our 41 MNAs had voted for Raja Parvez Ashraf while our two members were abroad and one was sick and they had informed the party high command accordingly. He said references are being filed against party MNAs who had violated the party policy by remaining absent from voting for their disqualification. Ch Parvez Elahi said that the Prime Minister had come to express his gratitude to the party leadership and we had only exchanged views with him on one subject that energy crisis should be brought under control at the earliest so that the people get the relief.
He said that in response the Prime Minister had told them that he is convening a meeting today in this regard in which Ch Shujat Hussain’s formula will also be considered adding that solution to the energy crisis has to be found as there is no other option available to us.
PML senior central leader said in response to questions about attacks on the houses of Ahmad Yar Heraj and Riaz Fatiana that all provinces except Punjab are ready to extend cooperation for overcoming the energy crisis but Shahbaz Sharif is trying to gain political mileage through this and misleading the people on this national crisis. He said that processions are being taken out through N League MNAs in Punjab, houses and offices of our leaders as well as of public are being attacked, banks are being looted, petrol pumps and vehicles are being set ablaze and public and private properties being damaged and destroyed by resorting to arson and loot. He asked as what good the Chief Minister is doing for the people of the province.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that people would once again know very soon that if the Federal Government is extending hand for ending the energy crisis and other provinces are ready to cooperate but how serious is the Punjab in this regard.
