Lahore:Commissioner Lahore Division, Jawad Rafiq Malik has ordered to make ensure the abundant availability and stability of price of pulse chana in all the markets of the city before Ramadan-ul-Mubarrak. He further directed the officers to keep a vigilant eye on the hoarders and profiteers during the Ramadan.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding assessment, supply of pulse gram and its rates at Commissioner office, here today. He made it clear to the officers concerned that there is a plenty of quantity of pulse chana in the market and its sale on fixed prices should be ensured and legal action should be taken against those involved in illegal profiteering and hoarding. He said that some elements deliberately increase the prices of edible items before Ramadan that is why it is necessary to keep a vigilant eye on such elements in the markets and shops. He further said that the process of monitoring should be continued after Ramadan. He also directed the officers that strict action should be taken against shopkeeps involved in sale of substandard and low quality items. The meeting was also attended by ADCG Musarrat Jabeen, taders of Akbari Mandi, Secretary Market Committee, officers of agriculture and industries besides others departments.
