Thirty four vehicles valuing 27.7 Million recovered

Lahore:Ringleader of Nizam Deen alias Shahanshah Car lifting gang involved in theft of 106 vehicles from Lahore arrested along with his two accomplices and 34 vehicles valuing around 27.2 million recovered from their possession.

According to details, Additional IG/CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen issued instructions to DIG Investigation Malik Ali Amir for initiating concrete measures for prevention of car theft and recovery of stolen vehicles. SP CRO Jamaat Ali Bukhari constituted a team under supervision of DSP Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff Saleem Mukhtar Butt who formed a raiding party headed by Saddar Division Sub-Inspector Muhammad Abbas and other officials for this purpose.

The said team during picketing for the purpose at Thokar Niaz Baig checked 2010 Toyota Corolla GLI which during scrutiny was found to have been snatched from the precincts of PS Township upon which accused Nizam Deen alias Shahanshah and his two accomplices Awaias and Jamshead were arrested and interrogated. During interrogation the accused disclosed to have been involved in theft of 106 vehicles from Lahore. As many as 34 vehicles have been recovered while efforts are underway for recovery of the remaining vehicles.

Disclosing their modus-operandi the accused disclosed that they used to move around in posh areas during late night and wee hours. Wherever they found a new model Toyota Corolla, Honda or Suzuki Mehran they stole it by breaking its rear door window glass. The stolen vehicles was taken to one Afaq Khan alias Aftab Khan r/o Dara Adam Khael in Peshawar via Motorway who subsequently got the vehicle shifted to Afghanistan by crossing Hango Tull Border.

The accused have made their houses in posh areas of Lahore and Islamabad and have kept expensive cars for their use. The accused are history-sheeters and have committed vehicles thefts mostly in PS Defense A & b, South Cantt, Nawab Town, Johar Town, Sattokatla and Township in Lahore.

Besides the gang’s ringleader Nizam Deen alias Shahanshah r/o Pam Street No.4 near PS Old Anarkali Lahore, his accomplices Muhammad Jamshead r/o Sheeman Wala Khoo, Begum Kot Lahore and Muhammad Awais r/o Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Rawalpindi have also been arrested. The raiding party comprised Sub-Inspector Muhammad Abbas, ASIs Muhammad Boota and Akthar Mehmood, Head Constables Muhammad Afzal and Abid Ali, Constables Muhammad Afzal, Mubeen Sajid, Muhammad Shabir and Muhammad Tariq.

Additional IG/CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen has announced cash award and commendation certificates for the raiding party on its good working.
