Blood donations culture should be promoted in the society:Kh Salman

KH Salman Raffique leading a walk on blood donor day

Lahore:Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Salman Rafique has stressed the need of promoting blood donations culture in the society for saving precious human lives. He said that one pint of blood can save a precious life of a patient which is a great form of worship.

He expressed these views, while leading awareness on the eve of World Blood Donors’ Day which was organized by Institute of Blood Transfusion Punjab, here today. The walk started from the main gate of PIMH, Jail Road and ended at Race Course Park. Besides Commissioner Lahore Rafique Malik, Chief Social Mobiliser, Punjab Mrs. Shaista Pervaiz Malik, officers of different government departments, Director Blood Transfusion Prof. Mehfooz ur Rehman, representative of NGOs, civil society and a large number of men and women participated in the walk.

On this occasion, Kh. Salman Rafique said that the objective of holding walk is to acknowledge the humanitarian services of blood donors, and highlighted the importance of blood donations in saving the precious human lives. Kh. Salman Rafique observed that a very few people in the society donate blood, there is a need to promote awareness among the masses, so that precious lives of hundreds of children suffering from thalasemia and other patients as well as injured persons can be saved by giving timely blood infusions.
