where was the police when objectionable video distributed

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the elements involved in criminal assault on children are the worst enemies of the society and law-enforcing agencies should remain vigilant for bringing them to justice.

He expressed these views while offering his sympathies to family members of a 9-year-old girl who was subjected to sexual torture by some perverted elements in village Chand Bharwana, district Jhang. Members Provincial Assembly Iftikhar Khan Baloch, Mehr Khalid Mehmood Sargana, Mehr Sultan Sikandar Bharwana, IG Punjab Haji Habib-ur-Rehman and divisional and district officers were also present on the occasion. Expressing his extreme sorrow and anguish over the sad incident of distribution of video prepared by the misguided youth after torturing the girl student of class II, the Chief Minister enquired from DPO as to where was the area police when this objectionable video was being distributed by such shameless elements. The Chief Minister assured the father of the affected girl Abdul Rehman his wholehearted support and said that this is a heinous crime of gang rape which will be tried in the anti-terrorist court to ensure that culprits meet their logical end. The Chief Minister also offered free of cost education to the affected girl in Daanish school.

The Chief Minister Punjab remained with the family of the victim in extreme weather in their Kacha house for an hour where there was not even proper system of light and ventilation. With tears in his eyes, when the Chief Minister sympathized with the father of the affected girl, he said that Shahbaz Sharif has always been a source of help and assistance to the poor and he was sure that the Chief Minister will soon come to his help. He said that had the Chief Minister not taken timely notice, the criminals would have murdered him.

The Chief Minister ordered the high ranking police officers present on the occasion to ensure complete protection to the affected family and submit the challan of the case to court of law after utilizing all scientific resources of investigation. The Chief Minister also ordered suspension of Circle DSP and SHO of the relevant police station for dereliction of duty. RPO Faisalabad and DPO Jhang informed on this occasion that two accused involved in the case have been arrested while the other two are on bail from the court. They said that once the bail was cancelled, they too, would be apprehended.
