Quran Complex to be completed soon:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore:Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Holy Quran is complete code of life which encompasses all its aspects. He said that the Holy Quran is a beacon of light and by following its teachings, not only a model society can be set up but an environment of love and brotherhood can also be created.He was addressing a meeting of Punjab Quran Board in his tent office at Minar-e-Pakistan today. Provincial Minister for Auqaf, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Secretary Auqaf and senior officers were also present. Chairman Quran Board, Allama Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi informed about the pace of Quran Complex project. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that there is a heavy responsibility on ulema and Mashaikh to play an active role in the setting up of a model welfare society, Ittehad Bain ul Muslemin and promotion of the sentiments of tolerance.

He said that besides upholding sanctity of the Holy Quran and following its teachings, there is also a need to pay attention to its proper publication. He said that the project of Quran Complex is of vital importance and delay in its execution will not be tolerated. He directed that steps should be taken for checking substandard publication of the Holy Quran as well as taking action against the elements involved in its printing on poor quality paper.

He said that work is in progress on Quran Complex in the provincial metropolis and all possible measures should be taken for its speedy completion. He also formed a committee comprising ulema and representatives of district administration and directed to meet twice a month to look into the matters relating to publication of the Holy Quran, construction of Quran Complex and other issues. He directed Provincial Minister and Secretary to pay regular visits for the early completion of the project and said that he will also visit the project to personally monitor the pace of work. He said the error-free printing of the Holy Quran and respect for worn out copies and pages of the Holy Quran is a collective responsibility and Punjab government will extend full cooperation to the Quran Board in this regard.
