Turk to generate power in Punjab

Lahore:Representatives of Turkish Energy Company HER called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Prospects of investment in energy sector in Punjab were discussed during the meeting. Chairman Solid Waste Management Company Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan, Secretary Energy & Local Government, MD Solid Waste Management and DCO Sialkot were also present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister while talking to Turkish delegation said that there are vast opportunities of investment in energy sector in Punjab and it is a matter of great pleasure if Turk investors invest in this sector. He said that Punjab Government and Turk companies are already working jointly on various projects and this mutual cooperation is enhancing bilateral trade. He said that we always feel pleasure to welcome our Turk brethren. He said that Pak-Turk friendship is an exemplary one and the people of both the countries are tied with the bonds of mutual respect. The Chief Minister while constituting a committee directed that this committee should hold negotiations with Turk Company with regard to generating energy through solid waste. He said that this committee should also finalize process of tendering of the project and other matters. Representatives of Turk company, expressing their views, said that they are willing to invest in the projects of generating energy through solid waste and want to start these projects in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Sialkot.
