Lahore: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Senator Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed that all steps should be taken for achieving the objectives of water supply and disposal services throughout the province. He said that loadshedding management complaint cells will be set up at district level for this purpose so that the increasing provocation among the people due to non-supply of water and disposal services could be controlled.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Loadshedding Management Cabinet Committee on second day in his camp office at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Advisor to Chief Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Additional Secretary Home, Additional IG Police, Additional Secretary Finance, Secretary Energy, Secretary Housing, Secretary Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering, Secretary Local Government and Secretary Labour attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that public protested about loadshedding in various districts of the province including Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Faisalabad on June 5. The meeting was told that there was loadshedding of nine hours in Lahore, 14 to 17 hours in Faisalabad, 8-10 hours in Multan and seven hours in Gujranwala the other day. Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa directed Secretary Local Government to carry out survey of tubewells throughout the province so that the tubewells being closed due to minor fault could be made functional. He directed that generators should be utilized for ensuring regular supply of water to the citizens in big cities.
