CM Punjab doesn,t want loadshedding to end:Ch Zaheer

Lahore:Pakistan Muslim League Punjab General Secretary Ch Zaheeruddin Khan has said that if the Punjab rulers seriously wanted to end electricity load shedding, they would not have opposed Ch Shujat Hussain formula which was very feasible and practical.

Addressing a press conference at the Muslim League House here today, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan who is also PML Parliamentary leader in the Provincial Assembly said that PML (N) was an ally of PPP for three and half years but then it did not see the electricity crisis. He said that forces opposed to construction of Kalabagh Dam are also responsible for electricity load shedding in the province as well as in the country.

Replying to questions, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan said that neither PML (N) has any intention to hold the local bodies election nor it has the time and drama of legislation is being played only to give cold shoulder to the Supreme Court direction for holding local bodies polls. He said that we had joined the Federal Government for resolving the people’s problems and are not an ally in the electricity load shedding.

 The PML leader said that the Punjab Government utilized Rs 2000 billion budgets in four years but there are no signs of development works anywhere in the province. He said the rulers themselves had suspended Sasti Roti Scheme and Food Support Programme because of corruption adding that the fate of the Laptops, Ashiana and Yellow Cab Schemes would not be any different.

In reply to a question, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan said that if those joining N League would have consulted Ch Akhtar Rasool then they would not eve n thought about joining N League. On this occasion, PML leaders Mian Muhammad Munir, President Lahore Yousuf Ahad Malik, Haji Imdad Hussain, Rehana Jamil and Shaikh Umar Hayat jointly contradicted the news about their joining N League as false and concocted and reposed their confidence in the leadership of Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi.

Yousuf Ahad Malik said that as many as 48 cases were instituted against him only because he was PML Lahore President. He said that no such treatment was meted out to any other developer.

He said party organization is complete in Lahore and the party would put up its candidates on every constituency of Lahore. He said that Nazims, Naib Nazims of more than 80 Union Councils out of 150 Union Councils of Lahore and hundreds of Councilors are even today with PML.

Provincial Information Secretary Muhammad Akram Chaudhry, Additional General Secretary Punjab Nasir Mahmud Gill and Central Secretary General of Youth Wing Syed Bilal Mustafa Sheerazi were among those present in the press conference.
