No development scheme without MPA’s consent:DCO Lahore

Lahore: District Coordination Officer Noor ul Amin Mengal has started election campaign for Muslim League -N by issuing order that no department would start any development scheme without the consultation of concerned local Members of Assembly.

He issued this order while presiding over a meeting regarding Annual Development Program (ADP) 2011-2012 with local MPAs at Town Hall Lahore. Members of Provincial Assembly belonging to Lahore Ch. Shahbaz, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Hafiz Mian Noman, Mohsin Latif, Mian Naveed Anjum, Rana Iqbal, Saif ul Malook Khokhar, Waseem Qadir, Haji Allah Rakha, Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad, Ijaz Ahmad Khan, Rana Tajamal Hussain, Khawaja Imran Nazir were present in the meting along with  all EDOs, ACs, TMOs, TO(Rs) and officers of other departments .

DCO Lahore said that separate funds have been allocated for development schemes at Town and Union Council level and without consultation of local MPAs no development scheme can be initiated whether it is big or small.
Earlier local MPAs apprised the DCO about their incomplete development schemes related to building, WASA, education, health, LDA and other departments. They also informed the DCO about the missing facilities in schools, shortage of medicines, medical equipments and staff in the dispensaries, out dated sewerage system, street lights, patchwork and dilapidated condition of roads.
On which DCO directed the officers to start the work on development schemes round the clock. He also warned the officers that available funds should be utilized on most important schemes in accordance with consultation of MPAs and maintained the correct details of utilization of development funds. He further said that the officer concerned will be held responsible if any misappropriation found in development scheme. DCO also took notice of the complaints of local MPAs against WASA and directed MD WASA to ensure the continuous water supply to the masses and tube wells should be run with generators in case of failure of power. He also directed to improve the sewerage system before the commencement of rainy season.
