Modern silos would be set up in Punjab

Lahore:Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Ch. Abdul Ghafoor presided over 6thmeeting of public private partnership steering committee. Provincial Secretary Planning & Development Muhammad Ali, Secretary Food Irfan Ali, Secretary Transport and others concerned officers were present on the occasion.

 Secretary Planning & Development presented four agenda items before the committee which include Punjab Multi Green Storage Project, signing of memo for provision of transaction advisory services between Planning and Development Department and International Finance Commission, signing of memo for Infrastructure Development between Public Private partnership Punjab and Finance Ministry Government of Pakistan besides project of preparation of vaccine for protection of animals from various diseases.

 Committee also gave approval to project between International Finance Commission and Punjab Public Private Partnership Cell. Ch.Abdul Ghafoor said that the work on this project would soon be initiated which would be completed in three years. He said that all investment would be made by private sector and its total cost would be five billion rupees.

 Ch. Abdul Ghafoor said that modern silos would be set up in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi. He said that with the completion of these silos, wheat and other crops can be stored for a long time on modern scientific lines. Ch. Abdul Ghafoor said that completion of these mega projects would bring revolutionary change and standard of life of the people would improve with the use of modern technology.
